西雅圖市政廳位於市中心大型計畫「市民中心」的心臟地局，佔地接近二十萬英呎平方，這棟建築提供了內部與外部共公集會的空間，會議室、市長室、會議大廳和公共接待區。

七層高的鋼體結構，兩層地下室提供儲藏、停車等功能。支柱放低以和上昇的樓板系統相調合。當初的建物設計考慮到市民集會的公共空間，因此沿「西雅圖司法中心」而蓋，兩者之間以水景和透明的通道相合，通透性高，市民可以從建物的許多角度欣賞到西雅圖的Pudget灣海景。

這棟建築獲得美國聯邦綠建築協會LEED金質獎，根據西雅圖城市燈光管理中心的帳單，新建物比原來的市政廳舊大樓在某些個月裡，原以為節省了15到50%的電力，以求符合京都議定書的規定，不過開幕(2003)年後發現事實不是如此，是什麼原因？沒人知道，正深入研究中。(影片在下方）

Seattle City Hall is located in the heart of the master-planned Civic Center, downtown Seattle, Washington. Encompassing nearly 200,000 square feet, the building hosts both interior and exterior public gathering spaces, council offices, mayoral suite, council chambers and public reception areas.

The seven floor steel structure sits above two floors of underground, storage and parking. Beams, were lowered to accommodate a raised floor system.

The building is arranged so public gathering spaces of City Hall align with the Seattle Justice Center. Connected by water and transparency throughout, the public spaces allow access to the Seattle sky and views of the Puget Sound.

City Hall is conveniently situated in close proximity to public transit within easy walking distance of a variety of services and provides bicycle storage and showers for 320 full-time occupants.

Seattle City Hall has been awarded a LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council.
